Merry Christmas Box Office Collection Day 5 Prediction: Katrina’s Film To See Another Dip After Crossing 11Cr

Katrina Kaif is making the headlines these days for her recent release and rightfully so. We are talking about Sriram Raghavan directorial Merry Christmas which also stars Vijay Sethupathi in the lead. The movie happens to be a thriller drama which marked Katrina's first collaboration with Vijay Sethupathi and was release on January 12 this year becoming the first release of 2024.

And after creating a substantial buzz in the town, Merry Christmas witnessed a decent opening at the box office and raked in a collection of Rs 2.45 crores on day 1. While Merry Christmas had an impressive opening weekend and minted Rs 3.45 crores and Rs 3.83 crores on Saturday and Sunday respectively, it saw a significant drop in collections on the first Monday (day 4) and was seen struggling at the box office.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Merry Christmas saw a drop of 56% on Monday and minted Rs 1.66 crores which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 11.39 crores. Given the ongoing trend, Merry Christmas is likely to witness a slight dip in collections today (day 5/first Tuesday) and earn around 1 crores. Well, with a clear ground for around 10 days at the box office with no releases, it will be interesting to see if Merry Christmas can cross Rs 25 crores mark as a lifetime collection before the release of Fighter on January 25.

Meanwhile, talking about working with Katrina Kaif, Vijay Sethupathi told Indian Express, "I never expected I'll work with Katrina Kaif. I'm a very big fan of Katrina. I was very happy when I saw her on the first day and I couldn't express (my happiness). She is a very thoughtful actor. She has so many questions. She thinks a lot. She is very dedicated. She comes up with an idea and she is ready to adapt. Even if she can't accept your thoughts, she will listen to you. She will put in a lot of effort to make a scene better. That's why she is in the industry not only because she is beautiful but also because she is sensible. Just on the basis of beauty you can't survive for so long. There should be sense and understanding. I felt it when I was working with her".
