Ulajh Box Office Collection Prediction Day 1: Janhvi Kapoor, who made her big Bollywood debut with the 2018 release Dhadak, has managed to prove her mettle onscreen time and again over the years. From romance drama to biopics, survival dramas and more, Janhvi has always made an attempt to bring something new to the table everytime she had hit the screens. And now, Janhvi is making headlines for her recent release Ulajh which is one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

Helmed by Sudhanshu Saria, Ulajh happens to be a spy thriller revolving around a young IFS officer who is stuck in a dangerous personal conspiracy amidst a career-defining post far away from her home. Apart from Janhvi, the movie also features Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, Rajesh Tailang and Adil Hussain in the lead roles. As Ulajh has released amid a lot of fan buzz, it has opened to mixed reviews from the audience leaving the fans wondering how it will fare at the box office.

In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat, producer and film business expert Girish Johar stated that Ulajh will be having a slow start at the box office and will be relying heavily on the word of mouth. We all know it's a very urban film and it's targeting the metro cities and is a very niche kind of a thriller. That is what is being conveyed from the material of the film so. I think the film is relying on the word of mouth. It is coming from the makers of Talvar and they are known for nuanced storytelling, so I believe it would be an interesting watch. At the box office, it can be a slow starter and relying heavily on word of mouth. So probably by Saturday, Sunday or probably by Friday night shows it does the talking at the box office. As of now, traction is quite low and it should open anywhere around Rs 1-1.5 crores or maybe Rs 2cr depending upon the first day feedback of the audience. Then on the basis of that, it can increase the numbers later".

Meanwhile, talking about Ulajh, Janhvi told Variety, "I've never taken so much ownership of a film and been so obsessive or sensitive about a film before. They really made me feel involved and empowered, and I have a voice. It's a very good feeling because I've never taken so much ownership or had this much of an opinion on everything that has to do with the film"
