Netflix released the trailer for Kathal. Sanya Malhotra plays a police officer who is assigned to investigate the disappearance of two jackfruits from an MLA’s home. Directed by Yashowardhan Mishra, Kathal is produced by Sikhya Entertainment and Balaji Telefilms. It also stars Anantvijay Joshi, Gurpal Singh, Neha Saraf, Vijay Raaz, and Rajpal Yadav. The quirky comedy movie will premiere on Netflix on May 19.

The Neeraj Pandey directorial, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, which was a biopic on one of country's most famous cricketers, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is set to re-release in Indian theaters. The film first released in 2016 will release in on May 12 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. The film featured late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who essayed MS Dhoni, the film went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year.

EXO's management company, SM Entertainment, released a statement announcing that Kai will be serving his mandatory military service from May 11. The statement released by the company, states, "Hello, this is SM Entertainment. We are delivering sudden news regarding Kai’s enlistment date. Although Kai had been preparing for EXO’s comeback later this year, due to recent changes in the law regarding military enlistment, Kai will be enlisting on May 11 to complete his basic training, after which he will begin working as a social worker. To respect Kai’s wishes to quietly enlist, we are not revealing the place and time at which he will enlist. We also ask that fans understand that any scheduled events on that day will be canceled. We will reveal details regarding EXO’s upcoming album as they are confirmed. Thank you"
