Agastya Nanda reaction on getting trolled for The Archies: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan's grandson Agastya Nanda made his big acting debut with Zoya Akhtar's teen musical drama The Archies. The film premiered on Netflix in December 2023 and received a mixed response from viewers.

Many even trolled Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan, and Kushi Kapoor's for their cringe dialogue delivery and bad performances. And now, Agastya has recently admitted that he was taken aback by the negative response the film received.

He also shared that it took him some time to understand that these negative reactions won't stop and that he has to try again.

Speaking to The Film Companion in an interview, Agastya revealed that he was left confused after seeing the negative reactions. He stated, "Honestly, I didn't know how to deal with it. When you are not prepped in this area, you don't know that many people have many opinions."

"And that's okay, you must have your opinion but I didn't know what was going on. Some people hated it, some people liked it, some people were indifferent to it and that's ok," he added.

The young star, who recently made his Instagram debut, further shared that The Archies was his "first try." He said, "On some levels, it didn't work and that's ok. It's my first try and I am going to work hard and get back up, try for the second and if that doesn't work then try for the third and then the fourth but to get to that realisation took me some time."

When reminded that his maternal uncle, actor Abhishek Bachchan, too had to go through some rough criticism in the beginning of his career and would put up negative reviews on walls to motivate him, Agastya replied that everyone has their own way of dealing with criticism.

"I think everyone has to do it. I don't put up negative things because why keep reminding yourself of it. Be aware of it, don't be ignorant. I did learn. I just watched the film and see what's happening and I just watched where I can improve, like any person in any field would do. Obviously when you look at it I was like 'Oh God what was I doing there, why did I say' but I am not putting anything up on my wall. It's a bit too dark," he said.

Further, he stated that he had an easy image of being an actor. "I thought everyone will give me hugs and kisses and love me. I didn't know that this hate thing would happen. I thought it was so easy. You do a film, people love you, you become a star. I had a very rosy picture but when the first few reviews came out, I was like 'boss no. It's not like that at all'," the 23-year-old actor said.

Agastya has already signed his second film, Sriram Raghavan's Ekkis, which is a biopic of the 1971 war hero, Arun Khetarpal. The film will also star veteran actor Dharmendra.
