Reports claimed that Imran is set to return to Bollywood films after 9 years with Aamir's upcoming production venture titled 'Happy Patel'. Directed by Vir Das and backed by Aamir Khan Prodictions, Imran essays the titular role of a secret agent in the quirky spy-comedy.

It was also reported that Imran already started shooting for the film in Goa and Aamir would make a special appearance as a don.

Dismissing the reports of his comeback, Imran stated, "It's not true. Vir Das is drecting and starring in 'Happy Patel'. I'm not in the film. They have just used a photograph of me as a part of in-film joke."

He's also talked about how he always gets surprised with the constant speculation regarding his Bollywood comeback. "I have never stopped being amazed at how these stories get blown out of context," he added.
