Jigra Plagiarism Controversies Netizens Verdict: Even before Alia Bhatt's much-anticipated film 'Jigra' hit cinemas, the film got entangled in controversies. The Vasan Bala directorial - produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, Alia's Eternal Sunshine Productions and Viacom18 Studios - has been under the radar of actress-filmmaker Divya Khossla since the trailer was dropped. For those unversed Divya is the wife of T-Series head-honcho Bhushan Kumar, who produced Ranbir's blockbuster film 'Animal'.
Since the beginning, Divya Khossla has been accusing the makers of 'Jigra', including Alia, of plagiarism and faking the box office numbers. She claimed that 'Jigra' has been copied from her film 'Savi', which was released earlier this year.

Divya Khossla has been repeatedly claiming that Alia Bhatt-Karan Johar's 'Jigra' is a 'copy' pf her film 'Savi'. Inspired by the 2010 film 'The Next Three Days', Savi was headlined by Divya and also starred Harshvardhan Rane and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles. She further claimed that both Savi and Jigra "share the same storyline" - the jail-break theme - but her film was in production first.
Savi followed the story of a wife going against the world to free her husband from a high-security prison, while in Jigra, a sister went at great length to save his brother from jail.

Is 'Jigra' really a 'copy' of 'Savi'? Well, according to Reddit users, apart from the prison-break theme, nothing is common between both the films.
Sharing a post on Reddit, an user wrote, "Why is that there is still talk about Jigra being a copy of Savi? Apart from jail break there is nothing similar in these movies. I mean Divya Khosla Kumar has done everything to tell people that Dharma has copied her film". Reacting to the post, one the users commented, "Divya's statement impacted on Jigra a lot", while another one wrote, "Which itself is a remake of Anything for Her. Divya Khosla is just trying to get into the news because her movie failed. The only reason I even saw the movie on Netflix was Anil Kapoor."
When Will Jigra Arrive On Netflix?
Even before the release, Netflix has acquired the streaming rights of Jigra. While the official OTT release date is yet to be announced, it's said that Jigra might stream on Netflix by late November or early December.
