Actor-director Ashutosh Gowariker along with actors Sonali Kulkarni, and Sai Tamhankar, who are set to portray significant roles in the much-anticipated series, came together to seek blessings from Bappa for the success of their upcoming project. The series will follow the infamous serial tragedy that shook Maharashtra during the 1970s. The show highlights renowned CID officer, Ramakant S. Kulkarni's unwavering commitment, persistence, and expertise in solving complex cases, who is also known as the Sherlock Holmes of India.

Bankrolled by Storyteller's Nook (Mahesh Kothare and Adinath Kothare) and created by Girish Joshi, Manvat Murders is helmed by Ashish Bende. For the unversed, it is based on the Ramakant S. Kulkarni's autobiographical work, Footprints on the Sand of Crime, the show boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Ashutosh Gowariker, Makarand Anaspure, Sonali Kulkarni, and Sai Tamhankar in the lead roles. The plot of the film revolves around some brutal murders in Maharashtra that took place in 1970s. According to several media reports, in between 1972 to 1974, 5 gruesome murders took place in the Manwat village in Maharashtra, and the victims were all females. Later it was revealed that the murders were plotted to locate treasure trove. The Marathi web series focuses on the official who is trying to solve the case and the puzzle revolves around it. Furthermore, the makers are offering an essence of 1970s rural Maharashtra.
