Dharmendra, the legendary Bollywood superstar, has passed away at 89, leaving his fans and the cinephiles heartbroken. Recently, Karan Johar took to his official social media handles and confirmed the same with a post. The popular filmmaker, who mourned the passing of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actor, penned a heartfelt note for Dharmendra, recalling his warmth and kindness.

Karan Johar, who shared a throwback picture of an incredibly handsome Dharmendra on his official Instagram handle, penned a long note recalling his interactions with the legend. "It is an end of an ERA..... a massive mega star... the embodiment of a HERO in mainstream cinema... incredibly handsome and the most enigmatic screen presence... he is and will always be a bonafide Legend of Indian Cinema... defining and richly present in the pages of cinema history..," wrote the filmmaker in his post.

"But mostly he was the best human being... he was so loved by everyone in our industry.... He only had immense love and positivity for everyone... his blessings, his hug and his incredible warmth will be missed more than words can describe.... Today there is a gaping hole in our industry... a space that can never be filled by anyone...," wrote Karan Johar, who had the opportunity to work with the legendary actor in one of his last films.

"There will always be the one and only DHARAMJI... we love you kind Sir.... We will miss you so much.... The heavens are blessed today.... It will always be my blessing to have worked with you.... And my heart says with respect, reverence and love.... Abhi Na jao chodke.... Ke dil abhi bhara nahi...... OM SHANTI," Karan Johar concluded his emotional post.

Dharmendra and Karan Johar worked together for the first and only time in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, the latter's directorial venture which hit the theatres in 2023. The legendary actor played the role of Kanwal Randhawa, the paternal grandfather of leading man Rocky played by Ranveer Singh, in the film.
