Kangana Ranaut To Be Next Prime Minister?: Emergency marks Kangana Ranaut's directorial debut. In addition to producing and starring in the lead role, Kangana shared her insights in an exclusive interview with Filmibeat, saying "I was telling my sister the other day that you know I made this film where not in wildest dream i thought ki mujhe ho sakta hai ki kuch apne colleagues ho gaye, kuch avi jo hai mantri ho gaye, unlog ke sath film dekhni padegi." Kangana asserts that if she were to watch Emergency with politicians or even her friends, she would do so with immense pride. In an exclusive interview with Filmibeat, our host A se Adi asked the actress, "Have you ever imagined yourself as a Prime Minister?" To this, Kangana laughed and wittily replied, "What would you like me doing as a Prime Minister? Fashion Walk!" She then recalled what her friends used to say. Kangana laughed and added, "There are my friends, obviously from the films, they are like 'You'll make a good Prime Minister because you wear such good clothes'." She then laughed at her friends for calling her "PM from Mandi." Kangana recalled correcting her friends while saying "It's MP from Mandi." Kangana further cleared that she has no such ambition of becoming a PM. She claims to be happy being an artist and looks forward to directing more movies.

To note, Emergency was originally set to release September 6, 2024. It later had to face delay as the movie failed to clear censorship requirements. As of now, Emergency is set to hit the theaters on January 17, 2025. The movie stars Kangana Ranaut in the lead role as Indira Gandhi alongside Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman, and Vishak Nair.
