Janhvi Kapoor Shares Shocking Teen Experience Of Her Morphed Image On P*rn Site, Felt Powerless: It Upsets Me
Janhvi Kapoor explains how AI generated deepfakes and morphed images cause ongoing distress and influence professional choices, underscoring digital safety and consent concerns for public figures.
Janhvi Kapoor has described how AI-generated deepfakes and morphed pictures keep disturbing daily life and work. The actor said the problem feels worse now because technology makes fake images look convincing. Janhvi linked this ongoing anxiety to a shocking first experience with a morphed picture on a pornographic website at age 15.

Speaking with entrepreneur and podcast host Raj Shamani, Janhvi revisited that teenage memory in detail. The actor said the discovery happened during school years, long before deepfake tools became common. Janhvi remembered seeing an edited picture online and said, "I don't know if it was a deepfake, but it was something like that. I saw a picture of me on a porn site."
Janhvi Kapoor and early online abuse with morphed images
Janhvi explained that the image appeared while attending an IT class in school. According to Janhvi, classmates were browsing explicit sites as a joke when the picture appeared. Janhvi said, "We had IT class in school, and boys used to go on those sites for fun. My pictures were on there. And this was in school, so that was a weird experience," describing the shock and confusion.
At first, Janhvi tried to accept the situation as part of being visible online. Janhvi said that belief helped temporarily but later felt unfair and unsafe. Sharing the internal conflict, Janhvi recalled thinking, "At some point, I was like, this is the cost you have to pay. There is no morality in a lot of these things on social media."
AI deepfakes, Janhvi Kapoor and impact on work choices
Janhvi said manipulated visuals have not stopped, and AI tools now intensify the problem. The actor spoke about fake pictures being treated as real, even by established outlets. Janhvi said, "I am not at peace with it. There are visuals of me out there, even shared by official news pages, which are completely AI-generated. I have never worn those clothes or been photographed like that," calling the experience unsettling.
These AI-generated and morphed images, Janhvi said, also affect work decisions on film sets. Janhvi fears that false visuals may mislead people about comfort levels with costumes or scenes. Janhvi explained, "It gets circulated as if it's something I've put out. That creates a certain kind of impression. If tomorrow I tell a director I'm not comfortable wearing something, someone can pull up those pictures and say, 'But you've done this before.' Even if they don't say it, it makes you think," highlighting the pressure.

| Personal life | Ongoing distress from morphed and AI-generated images online. |
| Professional choices | Concerns about directors misreading comfort levels due to fake visuals. |
Despite the emotional strain, Janhvi said speaking out still feels risky and complicated. The actor admitted feeling unsure about how much to protest publicly. "It upsets me, of course. But I feel like I don't have that much of a voice to complain," Janhvi said, noting that complaints from celebrities are often dismissed by audiences.
Janhvi pointed to a wider public attitude that expects actors to endure online harassment. Janhvi said discussions often get overshadowed by ideas about fame and privilege. "There's this attitude, you've got so much in life, thoda seh lo, don't complain. So I don't think my voice has that credibility yet. There will be backlash, and it might take away from the cause," Janhvi said, linking personal discomfort with a larger debate on digital safety and consent.
