During a light-hearted exchange with Rajpal Yadav, journalist Saurabh Dwivedi took an alleged dig at the Bhoot Bangla actor in connection with his latest ₹9 cr cheque bounce controversy. When Rajpal shared his philosophical thoughts on the global uncertainty and currency fluctuations, Dwivedi remarked, "Rajpal bhai, no matter how much the dollar and rupee fluctuate, aapko utne hi paise lautane padenge jitne udhaar hain".

While Rajpal Yadav took the comment sportingly and laughed it off, the joke didn't sit well with the netizens. Fans have been slamming the journalist left, right and centre for the dollar joke.

Now, one of the Reddit users has spilled a hot tea regarding Saruabh Dwivedi's debt dig at Rajpal Yada. The Reddit user claimed that a technician from the Screen Awards, who is reportedly a friend, alleged that the dollar remark was "unscripted," and the joke was originally meant to end before Dwivedi's debt comment.

Sharing it on Reddit, the user wrote, "During the Screen Awards, Saurabh Dwivedi had made a joke regarding the recent happenings around Rajpal Yadav(he going to prison) , which many ppl found derogatory and below the belt.
