Helmed by debutant director Arpan Gorai and written by Durbar Sharma, Talmar Romeo Juliet marks the Bengali series adaptation of William Shakespeare's world-famous play 'Romeo and Juliet'. Besides playing an important role, versatile actor-filmmaker Anirban Bhattacharya also served as a creative director of the show. Created by Hoichoi, the romantic-drama introduced two new young faces - Debdutta Raha and Hiya Roy.

Debdutta plays the role of 'Rana' (Romeo), who falls in love with the a bubbly girl named Jahanara (Juliet), played by Hiya. Their families are arch-enemies. The official logline of the show reads, "Set in the fictional town of Talma, hoichoi's retelling of 'Romeo and Juliet' brings love, deceit, and tragedy to web."

The series also features Payal De, Anujoy Chattopadhyay, Durbar Sharma, Joydeep Mukherjee and Ujan Chatterjee among others in significant roles. Talmar Romeo Juliet had its much-anticipated premiere on Hoichoi on Friday midnight, 15 November 2024 at 12 am.
