Set in a fictional town named 'Talmar', Talmar Romeo Juliet tells a star-crossed immortal passionate love story between two young lovers, filled with love, drama, revenge, tragedy, hatred and betrayal. Directed by Arpan Gorai, the Bengali-language web series introduces two fresh young faces - Debdutta Raha and Hiya Roy in the lead. Debdutta plays the role of Rana, the rebellious star footballer from the Majumdar family who falls in love with Jahanara, played by Hiya, the high-spirited, lovable girl-next-door from their rival family.

Created by Hoichoi, Talmar Romeo Juliet also features multi-faceted actor-director Anirban Bhattacharya, who also serves as the creative director of the show, Anujoy Chattopadhyay, Payal De, Ujan Chatterjee, Durbar Sharma and Joydeep Mukherjee in important roles. "Set in the fictional town of Talma, hoichoi's retelling of 'Romeo and Juliet' brings love, deceit, and tragedy to web," the official logline of the show reads.

Amid much buzz, the Hoichoi original series 'Talmar Romeo Juliet' is scheduled to premiere exclusively on the said streaming app from this Friday, i.e., 15th November 2024.
Talking about the upcoming series, showrunner Anirban Bhattacharya told t2, "Talmar Romeo Juliet is not just a retelling; it's a powerful blend of drama, passion, and the retro charm of a bygone era. We wanted to show how the story of Romeo and Juliet can be retold with Bengal's cultural richness, with all its complexities and the timeless struggle for love."
