New OTT Releases This Week March 30 to April 5 2026

Several projects arrive on 3 April, turning the mid-week window into the busiest streaming day. Before that, Prime Video and Netflix launch new content on 31 March and 1 April. Viewers can choose between episodic dramas, courtroom humour, genre films and spin-offs from popular television shows.

Latest OTT Releases This Week

* “Sitaare Zameen Par” leads the line-up as a sports comedy-drama directed by RS Prasanna. The film is described as a spiritual successor to Aamir Khan’s 2007 “Taare Zameen Par” and co-stars Genelia Deshmukh. Adapted from the 2018 Spanish film “Champions”, it streams on SonyLIV from 3 April.

* Crime thriller “Vadh 2” also lands on 3 April, this time on Netflix. Written and directed by Jaspal Singh Sandhu, it is presented as a spiritual sequel to the 2022 film “Vadh”. The new story again places Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta in central roles.

* Netflix’s 1 April film “Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos” blends spy action with comedy. Vir Das and Kavi Shastri direct, with Vir Das, Mithila Palkar, Mona Singh, Sharib Hashmi and Srushti Tawade in the cast. The movie follows a detective-style adventure with a lighter tone than the week’s thrillers.

* Crime series Kaptaan places its story in tense Jwalabad, where organised cartels run the streets. The show tracks shifting power structures, focusing on control instead of chaos. Kaptaan premieres on April 3 on Amazon MX Player. The narrative blends charged action sequences with strong emotional undercurrents and constant unease. Characters chase authority, survival and payback, turning every alliance into a risk and every decision into a potential spark for retribution.

* On 3 April, Netflix expands its courtroom comedy universe with “Maamla Legal Hai” season 2. Ravi Kishan returns as VD Tyagi, who now dreams of becoming a judge. The new season introduces Kusha Kapila and Dinesh Lal Yadav (Nirahua), adding fresh faces to the Patparganj court setting.

* Prime Video’s “Maa Ka Sum”, also out on 3 April, focuses on family and numbers. Mona Singh and Mihir Ahuja play the leads. The plot centres on a 19-year-old genius who uses mathematics and algorithms to search for an ideal partner for the character’s single mother.

* Netflix’s 8-episode drama “Ripple”, streaming from 31 March, zooms out to New York City. The narrative follows four strangers—Walter, Kris, Nate and Aria, played by Frankie Faison, Julia Chan, Ian Harding and Sydney Agudong. Their separate lives slowly connect as the series moves ahead.

* Genre fans get “Send Help” on Prime Video on 31 March, a survival horror thriller. Sam Raimi co-produces and directs, with the script by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. The film stars Rachel McAdams, Dylan O'Brien and Dennis Haysbert, and focuses on a tense struggle to stay alive.

* Comedy continues on ZEE5 with “Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! Fun on the Run”, arriving 3 April. The film spins off from the long-running television show and keeps familiar characters. Aasif Sheikh as Vibhuti, Rohitashv Gour as Tiwari and Shubhangi Atre as Angoori headline the cast for this road-style comedy drama.
