Sue Bird-Megan Rapinoe Split Reason: Why Did The Couple Part Ways?
Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe reportedly ended their relationship on mutual terms, though it wasn't an easy call for either of them. In their joint statement, the two made it clear that the decision came after careful thought rather than conflict.
As per reports, the shift in their lives after retirement may have played a key role. With both stepping away from their professional careers, they found themselves spending significantly more time together - something they hadn't experienced before in the same way. Despite working on projects like podcasts, both jointly and individually, adjusting to this new phase proved challenging.
"Though they both have been retired for a few years from their respective sports, they have been able to venture out and do other things along with their podcasts both together and separate," a source shared. "But one thing they couldn't figure out was seeing each other all the time, which is crazy to say. When they were involved in their careers, they would see each other of course, but it was also the element of absence makes the heart grow fonder."
The insider further revealed how small issues gradually became harder to ignore. "They just couldn't figure out retirement together. And a small disagreement would turn into a bigger thing, and they started to look to friends like they resented each other. And before it got out of hand, as they realized it was bleeding out to their friends, they made the mutual decision to end it."
