IU & Park Bo Gum Did Not Win At Baeksang Arts Awards: Netflix's K-drama When Life Gives You Tangerines has been trending on social media ever since its release. The show happens to be the most loved Korean drama of 2025. On May 5, 2025, the Baeksang Arts Awards were held for excellence in film, TV, and theater in South Korea. Netflix's show When Life Gives You Tangerines won the best drama award at the show. But the lead actors IU and Park Bo Gum did not win any awards, leaving fans angry.
Baeksang Arts Awards: Did IU & Park Bo Gum Not Win Any Award?
In the television category, When Life Gives You Tangerines won 4 awards. The best drama award was given to the Netflix show. Besides this, the other awards by the show were- Best Supporting Actor by Choi Dae-Hoon, Best Supporting Actress by Yeom Hye-Ran, and Im Sang-Choon for Best Screenplay. However, the lead actors IU and Park Bo Gum did not win any awards.
An angry fan wrote on X, "So let's boycott it. I also feel sad and frusted that IU and Park Bo Gum did not won best actor/actress.🙏🏼😭😭." Another tweeted, "IU and Park Bo Gum should've won #BaeksangArtsAwards2025."
Many believed that IU and Park Bo Gum were equally deserving to win the award at Baeksang Arts Award 2025.
Park Gum Leaves Fans Drooling Over His New PICS
After attending Baeksang Arts Award 2025, Park Bo Gum took to Instagram to upload a slew of pictures from the event. The actor's post started with a picture of him donning a black suit. It was followed by him posting with other co-stars. Park Bo Gum captioned his post, "Sailing with the love you sent. Thank you to everyone who supported me yesterday 🤍." "The most handsome man I've ever seen! ❤️," wrote one. One cheered the actor, "@bogummy to us your fans...you are and you will always be our WINNER."

Talking to Teen Vigue about what sparked his interest in When Life Gives You Tangerines, Park Bo Gum said, "For me, the first time that I read the script written by writer Lim, I thought instantly that all of the seasons that the two characters Gwan-sik and Ae-sun go through are so beautiful and so endearing and lovable." He added, "And I thought it was something that I just really wanted to be a part of. I also thought that this was the type of project where, after a long time passes by, it's something that you can watch with your family and think to yourself, "I'm just so grateful that I was a part of something like this (sic)."
While, IU revealed that she was drawn to the character as she never has attempted any such thing in her entire career. She added, "And also the fact that I'd be working with director Kim Won-suk, writer Lim Sang-choon, and also of course my co-star Bo-gum. That was also yet another very important reason that I wanted to do this (sic)." IU was seen donning a white colored dress at the Baeksang Arts Award 2025.
