The controversy gained traction after a female streamer alleged that a man in his 30s made unwanted physical advances toward her despite repeated refusals and later attempted to sexually assault her. Reports suggest that Jisoo's brother is currently under police investigation.

On April 16, Korean media outlets reported that the Seoul Gangnam Police had detained a man in his 30s on charges of forced molestation, with the case still under probe. The situation escalated further when a news platform used a blurred image featuring Jisoo and her brother in its thumbnail, quickly catching the attention of sharp-eyed netizens.

As quoted by Koreaboo, the streamer alleged, "He assured me there would be no sexual contact. I turned him down multiple times, but he still forced physical contact and attempted assault."

Amid the growing controversy, a section of fans has stepped forward on Reddit in support of BLACKPINK's Jisoo, stressing that she should not be dragged into the situation and that the allegations have no connection to her.

As the controversy continues to dominate the headlines, fresh allegations have surfaced against Jisoo's brother, Kim Jung Hoon. According to reports by Allkpop, an informant has accused him of subjecting his wife to domestic abuse and even filed a formal complaint with the police in January 2026 through a written testimony.

The informant claimed they first became aware of the situation in August 2025, when an acquaintance, identified as Kim Jung Hoon's wife, allegedly reached out for help. They described seeing visible injuries, including bruises on her face and body, which she reportedly tried to conceal by wearing long-sleeved clothing despite the summer heat.

The testimony further alleges a pattern of controlling and abusive behavior, including physical violence and constant surveillance through CCTV. It also claims instances of forced physical contact without consent. Copies of the handwritten statement, along with alleged images, have now surfaced online, triggering widespread shock and intense reactions across social media.

1) "Beginning around 2 weeks after the registration of their marriage, the assailant continuously assaulted and verbally abused the victim. Often, bouts of verbal and physical abuse were followed by forced intercourse and forced swallowing of the assailant's phlegm-mixed spit."

2) "The assailant forced the victim to stripe down, get on their knees, and beg for forgiveness. If the victim ever spoke of divorce or reporting her assailant to the police, she was violently assaulted."

3) "When the assailant noticed that bruises on the body were too noticeable to outsiders, he began targeting the victim's head, smashing her head on the floor and throwing her whole body against the wall."

4) "The victim was forced to say 'I love you' to the victim 30 times a day."

5) "The assailant monitored the victim's activities through CCTVs and audio recording devices installed inside the house, forcing the victim to hide in blind spots whenever she dared call her acquaintances or her parents."

6) "When the victim claimed that she wanted a divorce, the assailant threatened, 'I can make you go to jail even though you've done nothing wrong. I can fabricate crimes out of thin air with money. I have the best lawyers. I've been dealing with lawsuits for the past 3 years. Dealing with the likes of you is a piece of cake'."

7) "The assailant's ex-wife also claimed domestic abuse."

8) "The assailant constantly controlled data on the victim's phone, such as deleting all photos taken before 2025, changing personal information saved on social media and apps, surveilling all phone and message records, etc."
