Her agency stated, "Approximately three months ago, actress Lee Joo Shil's health declined, and she was diagnosed with stomach cancer after an examination from the hospital." For the unversed, the actress has earlier suffered from stage 3 breast cancer in 1993. However, she won over the battle that time. She also graduated from college while battling cancer and recieved a doctorate degree in public health from Wonkwang University in 2010.
