Malayalam films, which were released in the year 2024 are setting the box office records ringing with each release. One of the surprises in Mollywood is the latest new-age romantic comedy-drama titled Premalu. The movie was released to a thumping response and unanimously positive reviews on February 9 in Malayalam. Made on a budget of Rs 3 Crore, the movie became a super duper blockbuster.

Premalu Premise

This new-age romantic drama is set against the backdrop of Hyderabad where the protagonist Sachin pursues romance and then unknowingly gets caught between two girls and two relationships. What follows next is a hilarious ride of complex twists and turns.

Premalu OTT Rights Secured By Disney Plus Hotstar

As per the available information, one of the leading OTT giants, Disney Plus Hotstar, which is always one mile ahead in securing the digital streaming rights to most Malayalam films, has reportedly succeeded in buying the rights of the Premalu movie. Reportedly, the makers of the film cracked a lucrative deal owing to the film's grand success at the box office. The date of the streaming debut for the Premalu movie is yet-to-be announced.

This romantic comedy stars Naslen as Sachin, Mamitha Baiju as Reenu, Shyam Mohan as Aadhi, Sangeeth Prathap as Amal, Akhila Bhargavan, Meenakshi Raveendran, and Althaf Salim, Shameer Khan, Ranjith Narayan Kurup, AR Rajaganesh, K.S. Prasad, and Mathew Thomas among others in key roles.

Premalu Crew

Co-written and directed by Girish A.D., the movie was produced jointly by Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan, and Syam Pushkaran under the Bhavana Studios banner. Ajmal Sabu cranked the camera and Akash Joseph Varghese worked as the editor. Vishnu Vijay composed the film's entire background score and music. Kiran Josey worked as the co-writer for Premalu movie.
