Bazooka OTT Release: Malayalam action thriller Bazooka, starring Mammootty and Gautham Vasudev Menon, is reportedly gearing up for its digital premiere following its theatrical release on April 10, 2025. While there is no official confirmation yet, multiple OTT tracking pages cited by Asianet News have suggested that the film could arrive on Zee5 as early as May 26 or possibly June 5.

Bazooka: A Stylized Action Thriller

Directed by debutant Deeno Dennis, Bazooka was long in the making. The initial concept dates back to 2018 when Dennis approached Mammootty with a one-liner. Encouraged by the actor to develop the script and direct it himself, Dennis eventually saw his vision materialize years later. The film was formally announced in April 2023, with principal photography beginning the following month in Kochi. Filming wrapped up in October 2024.

Set in Kochi, Bazooka centers around ACP Benjamin Joshua (played by Gautham Vasudev Menon), who investigates a string of robberies executed by a gang that follows patterns drawn from a video game. As the case unfolds, he is aided by a retired forensic scientist and ethical hacker, John Caesar, portrayed by Mammootty in a performance that includes multiple aliases.

The cast also features Divya Pillai, Sidharth Bharathan, Iswarya Menon, Sumith Naval, and cameo appearances by Shine Tom Chacko and Babu Antony. The technical crew includes cinematographers Nimish Ravi and Roby Varghese Raj, editors Praveen Prabhakar and Nishadh Yusuf, and composers Saeed Abbas and Midhun Mukundan.

Despite the anticipation surrounding its release, the film received mixed reviews from critics. As Bazooka reportedly prepares to transition to the OTT space, many viewers who missed its theatrical run may soon have the chance to watch it. However, neither the makers nor the digital platform have issued an official confirmation.

Bazooka's potential arrival on Zee5 reflects a broader trend of recent Malayalam films finding their way to streaming platforms within weeks of their theatrical debut.
