Drishyam 3 Box Office Collection Day 1: Mohanlal's Film Crosses ₹15 Cr India Net, Grosses ₹43 Cr Worldwide

Drishyam 3 Box Office Collection: The third installment in the Drishyam franchise, Drishyam 3, opened in theatres worldwide on May 21, 2026, recording a strong start at the box office across domestic and overseas markets. Directed by Jeethu Joseph and headlined by Mohanlal, the Malayalam crime thriller marks the continuation of the story of Georgekutty and his family following the events of Drishyam and Drishyam 2.

According to early trade estimates published by box office tracking portal Sacnilk, Drishyam 3 collected an India net total of ₹15.85 crore on its opening day across languages. The film reportedly registered an overall occupancy of 51.3 percent from 5,506 shows nationwide. Including taxes, the India gross collection stood at ₹18.37 crore by the end of Day 1.

The film also recorded sizeable collections in overseas territories. Trade estimates suggest that Drishyam 3 earned around ₹25 crore gross internationally on its first day, taking its worldwide gross collection to approximately ₹43.37 crore within 24 hours of release.

Among the different language versions, the Malayalam edition contributed the highest share to the film's domestic earnings. The Malayalam version reportedly collected ₹13.70 crore net with an occupancy of around 67 percent from 3,503 shows. The Telugu dubbed version added ₹1.50 crore net, while the Tamil version collected ₹0.45 crore. The Kannada release contributed ₹0.20 crore on Day 1.

Drishyam 3 Weekend Box Office Trend In Focus After Strong Opening

The latest chapter in the franchise brings back several familiar faces from the earlier films, including Meena, Siddique, Asha Sarath, Ansiba Hassan, and Esther Anil. The cast also includes Murali Gopy in a key role.

Produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner Aashirvad Cinemas, the film has been presented by Pen Studios and Panorama Studios. The technical crew includes cinematographer Satheesh Kurup, editor Vinayak VS, and music composer Anil Johnson.

The trailer for Drishyam 3, released earlier this month, hinted at a more personal and emotionally layered conflict surrounding Georgekutty. One of the promotional lines from the trailer suggested that the film would explore the consequences of the character's past decisions more deeply than the earlier installments.

As the film moves into its second day in theatres on May 22, industry observers will be closely tracking whether the strong opening momentum translates into sustained weekend collections in Kerala and other major markets.
