Vedan Wedding: Rapper Vedan has confirmed that he will be tying the knot on February 24 in Thrissur. The artist, whose real name is Hirandas Murali, said the ceremony will be a simple register marriage.

The announcement was made during a government-organized Happiness Festival held as part of the Local Self-Government Day celebrations in Kerala. Vedan had attended the event to perform. While addressing the gathering, CPI(M) state secretary M. V. Govindan, who felicitated the musician on stage, mentioned the upcoming wedding. Responding to the remark, Vedan confirmed the news and said he would be entering into a register marriage on the 24th, seeking the goodwill and blessings of those present.
Who Is Navami Latha?
The bride-to-be, Navami Latha, is a young writer. She is the author of Poompattavetta, a collection of Malayalam short stories. Navami has accompanied Vedan to several public events over the years. Most recently, the two were seen together at the Kerala State Film Awards ceremony.
Vedan Songs and Career Highlights
Vedan first gained recognition in Kerala's independent music circuit with the 2020 release "Voice of the Voiceless," a track noted for its strong social and political themes. Over the following years, songs such as "Bhoomi Njan Vazhunidam," "Social Criminal," "Budhanayi Pira," and "Mauna Loa" helped expand his reach among listeners. His more recent track, "Ennakaruppi," released on February 14, has also found traction on digital platforms.
Beyond independent music, Vedan has contributed to Malayalam cinema as well. He wrote and performed "Kuthanthram" for the film Manjummel Boys, composed by Sushin Shyam. The song earned him the Kerala State Film Award for Best Lyricist.
Vedan Controversies and Legal Issues
At the same time, his career has been marked by controversies. He was previously arrested in connection with alleged marijuana use and possession. In a separate instance, a case was registered against him following a complaint alleging sexual exploitation under the promise of marriage. He was granted bail in both matters. "Me Too" allegations had also surfaced against him earlier.
With the wedding date now set, Vedan is preparing to begin a new chapter in his personal life while continuing his work in music.
