In its first week, "Raayan" has achieved an impressive box office performance globally. According to Box Office Tamil, the film has grossed ₹48.3 crore in Tamil Nadu, ₹7.2 crore in Karnataka, ₹4.65 crore in Kerala, and ₹10.1 crore in Andhra Pradesh/Telangana. The film also earned ₹2.6 crore from the rest of India. Internationally, "Raayan" has brought in ₹31 crore (approximately $3.7 million), pushing the total worldwide gross to a staggering ₹103.85 crore. This strong debut underscores the film's widespread appeal and success across various markets.

Raayan Synopsis

Set in the 1990s, "Raayan" tells the story of Kathavaraayan "Raayan," who takes on the responsibility of caring for his three younger siblings after their parents vanish. Relocating to North Chennai, Raayan establishes a fast-food restaurant while his siblings pursue their individual ambitions. The plot thickens when Muthu, the impulsive brother, kills a gangster's son, plunging them into a perilous world of gang rivalries and police machinations. As they confront betrayal and seek revenge, their solidarity and strength are tested, driving a compelling narrative full of action and drama.

Raayan Cast and Crew

In "Raayan," Dhanush stars as Kathavaraayan "Raayan," while Rakul Preet Singh portrays the young Raayan. Prakash Raj plays Commissioner R. Sargunam, and S. J. Suryah takes on the role of Sethuraman "Sethu." Selvaraghavan appears as Sekhar, Raayan's father figure. Sundeep Kishan and Avanish represent Muthuvelraayan "Muthu," Raayan's younger brother, in their adult and younger versions, respectively. Dushara Vijayan and Dharsikha play Durga, Raayan's younger sister, in their adult and younger forms.
