Sun Network signs strategic alliance with Network18

Sun Network has signed a strategic partnership deal with the leading news network Network18 Group to create a pan-India distribution company Sun18.

Kalanidhi Maran, the Chairman and Managing Director of Sun Network said, “We have formed the distribution company with an aim to better leverage our successful television channels all over the country. In the distribution platform business, Sun 18 is a very important project for us".

Going by the agreement, Sun18 would be responsible for distributing a total of 33 channels on all platforms, which includes DTH, cable, and IPTV throughout the country, informed Sun Television Network in a statement.

The statement added, Sun18 is distributing channels such as Hungama, SUN TV, Colors, MTV, Homeshop18, CNN-IBN, Nick, Vh1, CNBC-Awaaz, IBN-7, CNBC-TV18, IBN-Lokmat, Disney, Disney XD among few others.

With this tie-up, Network 18 Group has ventured into the Indian television distribution space, the statement added.

Now, Network18 includes CNBC-TV18, CNN-IBN, IBN-7, CNBC-Awaaz, and IBN-Lokmat.
