Dhanush Takes Rs 50 Crore For Ilaiyaraaja Biopic? Fans of Dhanush and Tamil cinema lovers were excited when they heard about the biopic being made on the living legend, maestro Ilaiyaraaja. It was altogether another high when none other than Dhanush was roped in for the role. The film being helmed by Arun Matheswaran was launched recently in Chennai by Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan, who wrote the film's script.

Jeeva Rajayya who became the maestro Illaiyaraaja is now 82 years old and made an eternal mark in the music and world cinema. A biopic on his life and achievements is rather a near-impossible feat but only Kollywood folks could pull it off with conviction and confidence.

Dhanush Charges Rs 50 Crore As Remuneration?

Dhanush, who recently bought a lavish house and donated a big chunk towards the movie Artists Association building, is in no mood to slow down career-wise. With back-to-back exciting projects, including his directorial Raayan, Dhanush is always on the go.

He reportedly is charging Rs 50 Crore for the biopic of Ilaiyaraaja, helmed by Arun Matheswaran. The actor-director also mentioned that he can only give fifty days for the film's shooting, allegedly, which makes his salary Rs 1 Crore per day. Dhanush is someone who likes to swiftly finish work on one project and move on to the next.

On the other hand, Thalaiva Rajinikanth, Ajith, and Thalapathy Vijay are taking a remuneration of over Rs 100 Crore, Dhanush had decided to charge Rs 50 Crore for his upcoming films. But they allot about 70 days for a film.

Dhanush's Work Front

Apart from Raayan which stars Sundeep Kishan and Kalidas Jayaram, which is now gearing up for a worldwide release, Dhanush is taking part in the filming of Kubera, under the direction of Shekar Kammula. Kubera also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Nagarjuna Akkineni in prominent roles.
