1. The Greatest of All Time (GOAT)

Directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Entertainment, The Greatest of All Time features Vijay in dual roles, supported by a star-studded cast including Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, and Sneha. This action thriller emerged as the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2024, raking in ₹457.12 crore worldwide. With ₹225.01 crore from Tamil Nadu and ₹296.87 crore across India, the film also added ₹160.25 crore from overseas markets. It was a resounding hit and claimed the top spot in Tamil cinema's gross collections for the year.

2. Amaran

A biographical action war film by Rajkumar Periasamy, Amaran narrates the story of Major Mukund Varadarajan, portrayed by Sivakarthikeyan. Sai Pallavi, Rahul Bose, and Bhuvan Arora complete the ensemble cast. The film grossed ₹333.66 crore globally, with ₹167.89 crore in Tamil Nadu and ₹253.66 crore across India. Its overseas earnings of ₹80 crore cemented its blockbuster status, making it a standout in 2024.

3. Vettaiyan

T. J. Gnanavel's Vettaiyan, starring Rajinikanth, delves into the moral dilemmas faced by a senior police officer. Featuring Amitabh Bachchan in his Tamil debut, alongside Fahadh Faasil and Manju Warrier, the film earned ₹253.69 crore worldwide. This included ₹123.89 crore from Tamil Nadu and ₹171.69 crore across India, with an additional ₹82 crore from overseas. Suryah and Aparna Balamurali, the film revolves around a fast-food truck owner caught in a gang war. It collected ₹154 crore worldwide, including ₹80.13 crore from Tamil Nadu and ₹110.5 crore across India. Its overseas collection of ₹43.5 crore contributed to its commercial success.
