Popular star Thalapathy Vijay's wife Sangeetha Sornalingam has now approached the Chengalpattu Family Court, to end their 27-year-long marriage. The star wife has accused the TVK Chief of infidelity and cruelty, on her divorce petition.

This new development came as a rude shock for the Thalapathy Vijay fans, his political followers, and Tamil cinema audiences. The internet is now divided over the discussions on the Jana Nayagan star's failed marriage, and the netizens are busy taking sides.

As expected, the Thalapathy Vijay fans and political supporters, who are enraged with the allegations on Sangeetha's divorce petition, are now busy attacking the star's estranged wife on social media. The naysayers are now questioning the star wife's decision to file for a divorce right before the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly elections, even though they were living separately from mid-2021.

Many supporters of Vijay are doubting that this divorce case is a planned move to attack the actor-politician while he is entering into most important phase of his new career. "It's interesting how a 'separation' from April 2021 suddenly turns into a legal circus 5 years later, just as Thalapathy Vijay's TVK is gaining momentum. Filing for divorce is one thing, but publicly citing 'extra markers' & threatening to leak names feels less like a legal necessity & more like a calculated blackmail attempt," wrote a supporter of Vijay on X.

Many internet users, especially women, are now openly bashing the Jana Nayagan actor for disrespecting his wife, who is also the mother of hix children, by indulging in an extramarital affair. They also point out that Sangeetha has indeed faced immense mental and emotional abuse, as per her divorce petition.

Some of the Reddit users are now even attacking actress Trisha Krishnan, who is rumoured to be the secret girlfriend of Thalapathy Vijay, mentioned in Sangeetha's divorce petition. They are pointing out that the star wife's petition is clearly mentioning Trisha's Instagram stories dedicated to the TVK Chief, which garnered the attention of media in recent times. However, both the actors have not accepted or denied the allegations, yet.

Meanwhile, a few social media users, who are maintaining a neutral view on the Vijay - Sangeetha divorce case, are insisting that it is a highly sensitive and personal matter, and the family should be given privacy.
