Ravindra Mahajani Death: The Marathi film industry woke up to a sombre morning with the news of the demise of esteemed Marathi actor Ravindra Mahajani. The veteran actor was 77 and was found dead at his rented apartment in Pune's Ambi village, Maval.

Mahajani had been residing there alone for several months now, and his untimely death has left his fans and industry colleagues in shock. According to reports, his neighbours sensed a foul smell from his flat and immediately contacted the Talegaon MIDC police station at about 4.30 p.m. on Friday, July 14.
When police arrived, they found the actor's apartment was locked from inside and therefore, had to force entry through the door. Upon going inside, Mahajani's body was discovered to be lifeless.

The actor's body has been sent for autopsy, and as per reports, he has been living in the Pune apartment for 8 months. Senior Inspector Shivaji Gaware informed ToI, saying, "Our team broke the door and found Mahajani dead inside the flat. The body was sent to Talegaon Dabhade hospital for autopsy."
Who was Ravindra Mahajani?
Known as the Vinod Khanna of the Marathi film industry for his looks, Ravindra Mahajani made his debut in 1969 with the movie Saat Hindustani, where he played the role of a police officer. It also starred Amitabh Bachchan.
In the early stages of his career, Ravindra drove taxis and auditioned for films.
Popularly known for working in movies like Mumbaicha Faujdar, Aram Haram Ahe, Zoonj, Bolo He Chakradhari, and Panipat, among several others, Ravindra was born to a journalist in Belgaum.
He made his comeback with the film Rao Tumhi in 2015 and is the father of popular television and Marathi film actor Gashmeer Mahajani. The veteran actor was recently seen in Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal, co-starring Karan Kundrra and Reem Shaikh. Other serials he was a part of include Imlie, Tu Zakhm Hai, and more. While he also featured in the 2019 Bollywood movie Panipat starring Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, and Kriti Sanon.
Ravindra Mahajani has left behind an everlasting legacy and is survived by his son, Gashmeer, and a daughter.
