Mangal Lakshmi: Deepika Singh Injured On Set, Screams In Pain As Plywood Board Falls On Her

Mangal Lakshmi: It's not a cakewalk to shoot for a daily soap. Actors have to shoot for 12-14 hours a day, especially if they are leads. The protagonists are required in most of the scenes, so they have to shoot even they are unwell. At times, the actors even continue to shoot the episodes despite the injury. Something similar happened with Deepika Singh.

HOW DEEPIKA SINGH GOT INJURED ON MANGAL LAKSHMI SET?

Deepika Singh has been injured on the sets of her show Mangal Lakshmi. The popular TV star suffered a back injury after a big plywood board fell on her while she was shooting an important sequence for her Colors TV show.

Deepika injured her upper back when she was filming a dream sequence on Wednesday (June 19). As she shot for the scene in MUmbai's Filmcity, a big plywood board fell on her due to the heavy wind. According to a report in Times Of India, the Diya Aur Baati Hum actress screamed in pain and her co-star Naman immediately rushed to help.

Despite the pain, the actress continued the shoot but stopped as the swelling in her back worsened, the report added.

The makers arranged an ice pack from the nearby studio where a dance show was being shot. After applying the ice pack, Deepika Singh managed to shoot whatever scenes she could. However, she had to leave the set when the pain became unbearable. She went home after shooting as many scenes that she could.

DEEPIKA SINGH SUFFERS FROM BLOOD CLOT

The Kavach actress developed a blood clot in her eye due to extreme heat while shooting for Mangal Lakshmi. She continued the shoot even when she sustained the blood clot as the makers didn't have a a bank of episodes and they had to wrap up an important wedding sequence.

As she plays the lead in Mangal Lakshmi, she is required in every scene. Being a thorough professional, she continued the shoot after taking the prescribed eye drops.

Deepika Singh, who is fondly known for her role of Sandhya in Diya Aur Baati Hum, made her return to the small screen with Mangal Lakshmi. The show airs on Colors channel.
