Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan Exclusive: Featuring Shubhangi Latkar in the titular role, the Zee TV show Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan has been entertaining viewers since its premiere last year. The family drama has been winning hearts and is among the highest-rated shows across channels, giving tough competition to long-running shows like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Udne Ki Aasha, among others.

Produced by Sargun Mehta and Ravie Dubey's Dreamiyata Entertainment Pvt Ltd, Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan is getting more interesting with each passing episode, and recently witnessed the entry of Shehzad Shaikh. Best known for playing Naksh in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, the actor has entered the Zee TV show as Shlok.

SHEHZAD SHAIKH ON HIS ROLE IN GANGA MAI KI BETIYAN: WILL SHLOK AFFECT SNEHA & SIDHU?

In an exclusive chat with Filmibeat Chief Copy Editor Aakash Kumar, Shehzad shared details of his Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan and how Shlok is going to play an important role in the life of everyone's beloved Ganga Mai. The actor is particularly excited about the role as he's playing a chef for the first time onscreen.

Revealing the same, he stated, "The character is just like Jeremy Allen Piven from the world's greatest show, The Bear, which is also one of my absolute favourite television shows in the world. The role is very, very different because I've never gotten a chance to play a chef or someone who's in the hospitality industry and has so much expertise in what he knows and what he does. I am very excited to play it because of my past experiences as a hotelier, and for the first time, I get to use my past experiences in practical life while acting, since I'm not in that business anymore."

Earlier, there were reports about Shehzad Shaikh entering the show as the third wheel in Sneha (Amandeep Sidhu) and Siddhu's (Sheizan Khan) love story. Reacting to it, the talented actor said, "My character is mainly going to be the reason why Ganga Mai is going to be shifting from a village setup to an actual five-star setup. So I don't see how Sneha and Sidhu's characters or love story will be affected, but the creators are creating, and we will see how that pans out."

SHEHZAD SHAIKH ON THE POSSIBILITY OF SHLOK TURNING NEGATIVE IN THE FUTURE

TV audiences love unexpected turns. On being asked if his character has any grey shades or potential to turn negative going ahead, Shezad denied the same and concluded, "I do not think so at all because this is an all-out, through and through, good guy who's been doing his job and is just trying to get his problem solved. And we hope for the best ahead."
