Indian Idol 16 will continue to remain on air for the next two months, even when Super Dancer Chapter 5 premieres. Filmibeat has learned that Indian Idol 16 might get shifted to the 9:30pm slot, the makers have remained tight-lipped about the development.

A reliable industry source earlier informed Filmibeat Chief Copy Editor Abhishek Ranjit, "Indian Idol season 16 has received an extension. The channel (Sony TV) informed the production house recently about extending the hit show for a few weeks. Considering the success of Indian Idol on SonyLIV, the network is keen to keep the show on air for a long period. The new season has already completed five months, and it is expected to be extended till IPL 2026 ends."

FANS ANGRY WITH AMRITHA RAJAN INDIAN IDOL 16 ELIMINATION

Eliminations happen in every reality show, as it is in the format. However, there are times when viewers are delighted with the eviction results. Something similar happened in Indian Idol 16 as Amritha Rajan got eliminated last week.

Her fans have expressed their displeasure over the decision, stating that she deserved to be a part of the show. They have been quite vocal about the elimination, mentioning that even Arijit Singh got evicted from Fame Gurukul, but he later became a successful singer in Bollywood.

As Amritha shared a video on Instagram, fans flooded the comments section with their messages. One user wrote, "Just saw the elimination video. You didn't deserve that. You have gained so many [email protected]. This may not have gone your way, but your talent is undeniable. Bigger things are coming for you, I'm sure of it! We are proud of you (sic)."

"I am sorry to hear that you have not qualified for Indian Idol. You were great, you are great and you will be great in the future too. Just remember that Arjit Singh never won an Indian Idol and now where he is now, just remember this❤️. You were one of my fav idols in these seasons. Gonna miss sound check, all the best (sic)," another commented.

A fan blamed the makers for Rajan's elimination. She wrote, They were actually planning to eliminate her that's why they started downgrading her then insulting her making her confidence low and as a result they eliminated her, it's simple politics if you don't fit into their norms they will eject you that's what they know. Otherwise, tell me how Diwakar is better than Srineedhi (sic)."

"These things are quite normal in reality shows. Even artists like Arijit Singh and Jubin Nautiyal were eliminated, but who they became in the future is history. Amritha, you too are on your way to joining that list (sic)," another fan said as she mentioned how Arijit Singh and Jubin Nautiyal were also eliminated from reality shows.

"History has shown that Indian Idol winners aren't the only ones who find success. Artists like Arijit Singh (from Fame Gurukul) or even Monali Thakur didn't win their respective seasons but went on to dominate the industry. Amritha has already built a solid brand for herself; Her historic presentations, as fans call them, have earned her a level of respect that a trophy cannot buy (sic)," a fan wrote on her Instagram video.

As of now, Amritha Rajan is not returning to Indian Idol 16 as a wildcard contestant.
