Ramoji Rao Passes Away: Cherukuri Ramoji Rao, the iconic media baron and film mogul, passed away at 87 in the early hours of Saturday (June 8). On June 5, he was admitted to a Hyderabad hospital named Star Hospitals in Nanakramguda, after experiencing high blood pressure and breathlessness.

Despite the doctors' efforts, which included installing a stent in his heart and placing him on a ventilator in the ICU, his condition deteriorated, and he passed away at 4:50 am today. Notably, Ramoji Rao had successfully battled colon cancer a few years ago.
Ramoji Rao had been suffering from chronic illness and age-related health complications for an extended period.

His business empire includes Margadarsi Chit Fund, Eenadu Newspaper, ETV Network, Ramadevi Public School, Priya Foods, Kalanjali, Ushakiran Movies, Mayuri Film Distributors, and Dolphin Group of Hotels.
As a media baron, Ramoji Rao wielded significant influence over Telugu politics, maintaining close relationships with numerous state and national leaders who sought his counsel on critical issues. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to journalism, literature, cinema, and education, the Government of India honored him with the Padma Vibhushan, the country's second-highest civilian award, in 2016.
Ramoji Rao ventured into filmmaking with the 1984 blockbuster romantic drama Srivariki Premalekha and went on to produce numerous classics, including Mayuri, Pratighatana, Mouna Poratam, Manasu Mamata, Chitram, and Nuvve Kavali. His final film as a producer was Dagudumootha Dandakor, released in 2015.
