Meet the Power-Packed Star Cast of the Much-Awaited Border 2, Releasing In 2026

Border 2 is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language epic war film, set to release on January 23, 2026, during the Republic Day extended weekend. A sequel to the 1997 classic Border, the movie is directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, featuring a powerful ensemble cast. The film is primarily based on India’s 1999 Kargil War against Pakistan, showcasing the bravery of soldiers during that conflict, while also touching upon the 1971 Indo-Pak War and highlighting the Indian Navy’s role, focusing on real stories, heroism, and patriotism.

Sunny Deol reprises his iconic role as Lt. Col. in Border 2, bringing back the same grit and patriotism that made the original Border (1997) a landmark war film. Known for his powerful performances in hits like Ghayal, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, and Apne, Sunny Deol is celebrated for portraying larger-than-life heroic characters. Recently, he faced a personal loss with the passing of his father, legendary actor Dharmendra, making the anticipation for Border 2. 

Varun Dhawan stars as Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, PVC in Border 2, portraying the bravery and valor of the real-life war hero. Known for his versatility, Varun has delivered notable performances in films like Badlapur, Dilwale, Judwaa 2, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, and Street Dancer 3D, showcasing his ability to handle both intense drama and high-energy entertainment. 

Diljit Dosanjh stars as Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, PVC in Border 2, bringing to life the heroism of India’s youngest and bravest Air Force officer to receive the Param Vir Chakra. Known for his versatility in both films and music, Diljit has delivered notable performances in movies like Soorma, Udta Punjab, Good Newwz, and more.

Ahan Shetty stars as Lt. Cdr. Joseph Pius Alfred Noronha, MVC in Border 2, portraying the bravery and valor of the decorated naval officer. Known for his debut in Tadap, Ahan is gradually establishing himself in Bollywood with a strong screen presence and action-oriented roles. 

Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh, and Medha Rana play the main female roles in Border 2. They bring strong and emotional performances to the film, showing courage and support while complementing the story of heroism and patriotism on the battlefield.
