Poonam Kaur aka Nakshatra is a popular Indian actress and model, primarily known for her work in the Telugu film industry. She has also appeared in a few Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada films.

Personal Life
Born in Hyderabad, Telangana, Poonam Kaur attended Hyderabad Public School for her school education. Following this, she relocated to Delhi and pursued her graduation in Fashion Designing at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Delhi.


Career Life
Poonam Kaur embarked on her acting journey with the Telugu movie 'Mayajalam,' but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations at the box office. Undeterred, she ventured into Tamil cinema with her debut in 'Nenjirukkum Varai' directed by S. A. Chandrasekhar in 2006. Poonam also graced the screens in leading roles in Kamal Haasan's 'Unnaipol Oruvan' and 'Nayagi.' Her foray into Kannada cinema began with 'Bandhu Balaga,' directed by Naganna, where she starred alongside Shiva Rajkumar and Hema Chaudhary. Expanding her horizons further, Poonam made her debut in Malayalam cinema with 'Bangles.'

Vivek Agnihotri's 'Junooniyat' marked her entry into Hindi cinema, where she portrayed a lead role alongside Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam. Throughout her diverse acting career, Poonam Kaur has demonstrated versatility and talent across multiple film industries.


Political Career
After aligning with the Telugu Desam Party, actress Poonam Kaur was appointed as the brand ambassador for Andhra Pradesh's handloom industry in 2018. Her political involvement continued in 2022 when she participated in the Bharat Jodo Yatra alongside Rahul Gandhi, organized by the Indian National Congress. Her picture from the Yatra landed in a big controversy and the actress had to clarify the controversy.


Health Complications
The news of Poonam Kaur's health struggles came as a shock to everyone. In 2022, she took to Instagram to share her battle with Fibromyalgia, a chronic condition that affects muscles and soft tissues. This condition leads to widespread muscle pain and tenderness, along with symptoms like fatigue and sleep disturbances.
