Biography

Roma Asrani is a popular model turned actress who works mainly in South Indian films. She made her debut in the Malayalam film Notebook in 2006. She has acted in Tamil and Kannada films. Roma's parents are from Delhi, but are settled in Chennai. Her father is Muraleedhar who runs a wholesale Jewellery Shop in Chennai and mother Madhu is helping him in his business. She made her entry into films with the Malayalam movie Notebook, which became very popular after the success of her debut film. For her performance in Notebook, she was awarded Best Newcomer by Film Critics, Asianet, Amrita TV & Kalakeralam. Her second film July 4 (2007) was a flop, but her performance in the movie was appreciated. Her movie Chocolate (2007) with Prithviraj was a big hit, and this movie was definitely a turning point in her career. She has also acted in a music album by the band Team Malayalee with popular singer Vineeth Sreenivasan and actor Prithviraj for the number Minnel Azhake. She has also acted in the Telugu movie Mr. Errababu (2005)and Tamil movie Kathale En Kathale (2006). And her debut Kannada movie is Aramane (2007) starring Ganesh in the lead. She has also worked as a model for advertisements. Roma was questioned by the Kerala Police in connection with the Total 4 U financial fraud case in 2008.
