His father played a supporting actor role in his first film, Thayava. Early life Sudeep, born on September 2, 1971, to Sanjeev Manjappa and Saroja in Shimoga, Karnataka, hails from a family that originally migrated from Narasimharajapura in the Chikmagalur district. He earned a bachelor's degree in Industrial and Production Engineering from Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering in Bangalore, where he also represented his college in under-17 cricket. Sudeep later attended the Roshan Taneja School of Acting in Mumbai, where he worked on overcoming his shyness and prepared for his acting career.
