Dayanand Chandrashekhar Shetty (Tulu:ದಯಾನಂದ್ ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ) is a noted Indian film and television actor and former sportsman. He is best known for playing Senior Inspector Daya in Pradeep Uppoor & B.P Singh hit Indian Television series C.I.D

Personal life

Dayanand Shetty was born on 11 december 1969,in a Tulu speaking Bunt family in Katapadi village of Udupi district of Karnataka State in India to Chandra prakash Shetty and Uma Shetty.He has two sisters. He did his B.com from Rizvi College, Bandra. He married Smitha Shetty and they have a eight year old one daughter called Viva.He has a height of 6"2. He got the award for the best looking actor in indian television 2002.

Career

He is basically a sportsman-turned-actor due to leg injury. He was a shotput and discus thrower, which won him many prizes in these sports. He was the champion of discus throw from State Maharastra in 1994. He has acted in many commercials, and is even a theatre artist who has won many awards. He won the BEST ACTOR award for his role in the Tulu language play "Secret".
