Biography

Sanjay Dutt is an Indian film actor and producer who works mainly in the Hindi film industry. He is the son of Bollywood iconic actors Sunil Dutt and Nargis. Sanjay Dutt is best known for his romantic and hilarious roles in movies like Vaastav, Saajan, Khoobsurat, Munna Bhai MBBS and Agneepath. Personal Life Dutt was born in Mumbai to the late actors Nargis and Sunil Dutt. He has two sisters, Priya Dutt and Namrata Dutt (Anju). After completing his school education, Dutt got admission to Elphinstone College in Mumbai. It was during his college days that he got addicted to heavy drugs. Sanjay married Richa Sharma in 1987. She died of cancer in 1996. They had a daughter, Trishala Dutt, who lives in the United States. After the death of his first wife, Dutt married Rhea Pillai in 1998. Later, the couple announced their separation in 2008. In the same year, Dutt married his third wife Dilnawaz Shaikh, also known as Manyata. They have twin children, a son named Shaharan and a daughter named Ekra. Career Life Dutt's debut film was the 1981 film Rocky, which was produced and directed by his father, Sunil Dutt. After his debut film, Dutt continued acting in films. Eventually, he gained fame in the Bollywood industry and gained international attention. His best known performances in the early 1980's included Vidhaata (1982), Naam (1986) and Hathyar (1989). His breakthrough role came in Subhash Ghai's Khalnayak (1993), for which he received a Filmfare Award nomination. Dutt's most successful role has been that of the comic goon Munna Bhai, appearing in the films Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. and Lage Raho Munna Bhai. Awards & Recognition Sanjay Dutt has won numerous awards for his incredible performance in the industry. Inn the year of 2000, he has recieved his first ward for best actor for his performance in the film 'Vaastav'.
